Meet Christine Born! New Testing Coordinator for CFCI

Posted by & filed under Featured.

For 27 years, I have been in the classroom with children ages  4-15.  My degree is from Bethany College in Elementary Education with a minor in Language Arts.  Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania  I went straight into the classroom at 22 years of age and have been there ever since!  Since retiring from New Hanover County Schools in July, I have started teaching English as a Second Language to children in Beijing ages 4-15.

I believe having firsthand experience administering tests,  along with writing and evaluating EOG test items  will not only be helpful in this position but will enable me to aid the teachers in a successful, organized  testing season.

I have 2 daughters.  Jenna, my oldest, works in the Obstetrics Department at Mercy Hospital near Chicago.  Jillian is a senior nursing major at Lenior Rhyne University.  My husband is Chief of Training for the Wilmington Fire Department and we have a beautiful German Shepherd named Montana.

In my ‘spare’ time I enjoy planning and directing weddings, tutoring and scrapbooking.  I also teach a scrapbooking camp in the summer.  I also enjoy relaxing on the beach and boating.

I am proud and excited to come to CFCI as your Testing Coordinator and I look forward to getting to know the teachers, children and families of this very special community of learners.
