CFCI Robotics places 1st and 2nd in State Qualifier!!!

Congratulations PIT Crew (Put It Together)

On December 16th, the CFCI Robotics Team– Put It Together (PIT) competed at the Lego FLL State Qualifying Tournament in Cary, NC.  They did an amazing job!

Congratulations on receiving the 1st Place Research Award for the Project.  Some of the comments from the Project rubric are:
– “Outstanding effort to collect real world data from their school.  Agile approach to issue using imaginative problem analysis”
– “Through data collection and presentation to schoolmates and others outside their school.”

We scored 2nd place overall on the robot runs, this is a remarkable improvement over previous years!
For Robot Design rubric, the strengths included Mechanical Design and Strategy & Innovation and the judges appreciated the coding comments.
– “Consider adding sensors to improve navigation”
– “We loved your fountain / pipe removal attachment”
– “The arm that could deliver water and pickup the pipe was one of the coolest things we saw all day!”

For the Core Values rubric, the strengths included Inspiration and Gracious Professionalism.
– “Very fun group with a good mix of rookies and veterans”
– “Gave a chance for everyone to speak”

It also great to see Dylan Morris,  a CFCI alumni, receive the FLL Young Adult Mentor award, he is now a YAM!

It was a great season, we are super proud of how this team came together.  We look forward to seeing some of you again next year and I hope that the our 8th grade veterans can find a way to continue the FLL journey, look into First Tech Challenge!   Congratulations!!!
